OUR STORY
TAGALLA was born out of a passion for photography, art, and culture. Inspired by the landscapes and peoples of East Africa, we support local communities there and all of our products are sustainably sourced.
A traditional name usually given to girls, ‘TAGALLA’ celebrates the age-old hand-weaving method used in the communities of the Rwenzori mountains, using raffia grasses and vibrant dyes derived entirely from plants.
Every product is hand woven and hand dyed.
Our designs are inspired by prominent Western art movements fused with East African culture and our photography illustrates the aesthetic that drives our artistic direction. The result, we hope, is a collection of contemporary designs that enhance any space, whether used practically or displayed.
OUR AIM IS TO BUILD A SUSTAINABLE BRAND THAT SUPPORTS COMMUNITIES IN NEED.
